This year's
Weed Education Program
consisted of two sessions.
In our first session,
weed control experts Michelle Passmore
(small acreage resource technician with the Gallatin County Extension)
and Justin Runyon
(research entomologist with the USFS)
led participants on a walk to observe weeds and weed control efforts.
This part of the program was oriented to school-age children;
in this picture,
parents trailed behind as the students raced ahead to the next item of
interest.
The students who attended were rewarded with a
weed and insect science kit.
On July 14,
B2BC hosted a presentation by Michelle to educate landowners about the
weeds they may encounter on their property and the best control methods
for them.
Attendees were able to ask specific questions regarding their own weed
problems and schedule a site visit for Michelle to observe and recommend
best practices for their property.
